Does McKinnon Materials install their own products?
No, but that doesn't mean that we have not. If you are interested in having one of our products installed, contact us and we can recommend an installer in your area.
Does McKinnon Materials require minimum order quantities?
No. It should be noted, however, that most freight companies do have a "minimum floor charge". This means that the same price applies for 1lb up 300lbs, sometimes more. We use several different shipping methods and carriers in order to get you the most cost effective shipping. We then pass this discounted savings on to you!
Does McKinnon Materials market and sell to DIY'ers and Homeowners?
We focus our marketing to Contractors, Architects and Builders rather than to DIY'ers and homeowners. Most of McKinnon Materials' products are industrial grade solutions designed to be used by professional installers or contractors. While many DIY customers have success installing our products, we recommend hiring a professional installer, especially a McKinnon Materials' certified installer. We do sell the Stone Bond Epoxy for re-seal to homeowners and DIY'ers that feel that they are capable of following the guidelines and instructions that are recommended. It helps to have some background in construction.
What about shipping? Sound expensive?

Once you place your order, we do the research to get you the best shipping rate for your location. Since our customer base is nationwide, we are able to aggressively pursue the most discounted rates available. Affordable shipping means you can not only purchase the products you need, but get them in a timely and cost-conscious manner.
What is the normal shipping process for your product?
Most of the time, orders placed before 1pm EST can ship the same day. Custom tinting orders may require a 24-48 hour processing time. Since shipments are picked up in the afternoon, we must allow for time to process the order, prepare shipping documents and double check the packing slips. Orders are also available for pickup as well by local contractors.
What if the freight company attempts to charge me more than my quoted shipping price?
This occurs sometimes if you already have an account set-up with a freight company. In that case you would have to request to prepay the freight when you order and we can bill you our negotiated, discounted price. There is a $20 prepaid freight fee.
If you have chosen to pay the freight upon delivery (collect), please call us immediately and we can get it resolved for you. Please do not pay the freight if it is more than a few dollars difference from your quote as the only way to get the freight refunded is to file an overcharge claim with the freight company.
What is your return policy?
If you ordered more material than necessary and wish to return the extra products, we will accept most returns as long as all products are unopened, undamaged and are returned in the same fashion as they were received. No returns 30 days after the date of invoice. PLEASE NOTE: ALL SALES ARE FINAL ON CUSTOM TINTED PRODUCTS. The customer will be responsible for all shipment costs and a 10% restocking fee. These charges will be deducted from your refund.
